Lisa Walsh, a figurative sculptress in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada works mainly in white clay and porcelain to create her uniquely detailed sculptures. Lisa's work features angels, faeries, Victorian style women, mother and child themes, goddesses and portraiture. Her portfolio includes many beautiful yet functional pieces such as figurative sculptural vases,  fountain pieces, art nouveau inspired decorative mirrors, tiles,  panels,  faerie birdbaths, cameo porcelain portraits and memorial angels. Her specialty, however, is in the original creation of intuitively sculpted guardian angels. These sculptures can also be in the likeness of a loved one and are imbued with angelic energy and healing crystals.

Lisa draws her inspiration from the angelic realm, dreams, books and beautiful Victorian paintings. Images stay in her mind as if they are waiting to be born. "There is definitely an order to creating the pieces." says Lisa. "It is as if each piece has its own right time to be created or the energy just isn't there. I usually work very quickly at the beginning, getting the right shape and feeling of the piece. I think that the most important part of sculpting is capturing the feeling or essence of each sculpture. You can feel the energy and the emotion emanating from the clay if you capture it in this first stage. The rest is just the details." The detail work takes the most amount of time and makes her sculptures so exquisite.

Lisa has found sculpting to be very joyful and healing. The happiness and loving energy of creating a special sculpture for someone else to find pleasure in owning is something that she hopes to continue to do and share with people for the rest of her life.

Examples of Lisa's work can be found in the homes and gardens of private collectors in Canada, The United States, England, Ireland, Hong Kong and Australia. She is also a member of the Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists.
